New Early Literacy Resource!

Lori Romero, Richard Lyda, and I all recently had a chance to work on a new resource website for Colorado librarians. We're part of a state-wide organization called Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy, and the website is one of our first projects. We're trying to bring together as much material as we can for librarians who are working with literacy-based programs.

Will you take a look at it and let us know what you would love to be able to find here? What resources do you wish for as you plan your literacy-based storytimes? It's very much a work in progress and we could use your input!

There seems to be a lot of good information here! From a design point-of-view, I'm wondering about the login. Why do I need to login and how do I register (forgive me for obvious questions--maybe I didn't look closely enough)? Also, will the middle space be a blog of featured material?

For right now, the login is for the CLEL committee members who can add content. In the future, though, we are hoping to do some community-building stuff through the site. There are some social-networking modules we can add on, so you could log in to join conversations or maybe even do a little Facebook type of interactions...the content management software we are using has a lot to explore and we just don't know everything yet.

The home page will be a blog, probably sometimes featuring conferences & workshops, sometimes featuring news.

What would you like to see in the middle?
