Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

The movie opens September 18th. This adds to the questions about Where the Wild Things Are that Melissa asked in her post:
"How do you adapt a quintessential work from its original media to another? Just how problematic is it to try to stretch a picture book into a full-length feature?"

Check out the trailer.
It will be interesting to see how this goes over.

For as long as I've been a children's librarian, I've gotten the reference question: "There was this book I read as a kid, where it rained food...?"

I think there is lots of love for this title, even if it's not on the same level as Where the Wild Things Are (what else is, though?).

It will be interesting to see how this does! Thanks for the reminder, Alyson, I knew it was coming up, but not how soon!

Most of the trailers shown before Harry Potter were movies based on books. They showed Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Where the Wild Things Are, New Moon, Percy Jackson and Sherlock Holmes.
