Children's Librarian Training, Chicago-Style

Here's a post from the ALSC blog that describes "basic training" for Chicago PL Children's Librarians!

As we swing into the new year, what training would you like to see ALD offer so you can continue to build your skills as youth services staff?

For me I feel that what I need most is to read books so I can better recommend various books to children and their parents, the thing is that this takes TIME! The only training I could really benefit from at this time is collection maintenance mainly relating to weeding!!!!! I feel that I have no real clue what I am doing in this regard!
(And Melissa you are posting things while on vacation? -- hope you are having fun!)

Allison, The way I keep up on Childrens books is listen to them when I'm driving. Maybe some else might have a better idea.
